At Gremlin Social, we think it's important for our clients, partners, and other stakeholders to be able to put a face to a name. That's why we like to do monthly employee spotlights! This month, we sat down with Customer Success & Product Manager Meghana Hermes to ask her a few questions about her experience at Gremlin.
What do you do at Gremlin Social?
I have a unique dual role, as I work in product development and client management. I work closely with the product, which helps me train clients and understand their needs better. Conversely, working with clients and understanding their business processes helps me understand the user experience and what's needed from a product.
How did you come to join the Gremlin Social team?
When I was still new to St. Louis, I scouted some local companies, and with Gremlin being a block away from my apartment, it didn’t take long before I happened upon it — thanks to my neighbor, who's now my co-worker.
I interviewed with the CEO, and by the end of our talk, he told me that I had an impressive work history and a lot to bring to the table. I was given a much more interesting offer than the position I originally applied for, so I jumped on it. It was such an exciting opportunity that my signature was on the dotted line before I left his office.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Gremlin Social?
Being a smaller firm, one of the charms about Gremlin is that I have the unique opportunity to function in a multifaceted capacity. One day, I might focus on customer success and resolve issues; another day, I might try to fix some system bug; then, I could do product demonstrations or improve efficiency behind the scenes. There are even days when I do a little bit of everything before I shut down for the night, sometimes even dabbling a little in sales.
I’ve previously worked for big corporations where employees were pretty much expected to stay in their own branch of the company’s tree, but Gremlin is so much more engaging because we're all working with and for each other.
How would your co-workers describe you?
“Takin’ care of business every day. Takin’ care of business and workin’ overtime!” I’m the gal who always meets her deadlines and keeps our customers loyal. I would guess they might say I strike a unique balance between upbeat, friendly, and spitfire attitudes. I always have their backs!
What’s your favorite memory you’ve made during your time at the company?
I've gotten to know some really driven, goal-oriented, and talented people. Friendships have bloomed from the seeds that were my co-workers. It’s nice to work with a close-knit group of people who share mutual fondness and respect for one another.
