The holiday season is a crazy time of year – it’s busy, it’s stressful, and it takes an incredible amount of personal energy. It’s also meant to be a time to stop and think about all the things you’re grateful for, including all the people in your life who you interact with in ways big and small.
These thankful sentiments are also right in line with the positive community building you want to incorporate into your banks social media accounts. What better time of year to highlight those we are most thankful for?
While you’re planning your social for this holiday season, don’t forget to include these four categories!
- Be thankful for your employees
The holiday season is a stressful time – both in and out of the workplace. Your employees are not only working hard to finish up their projects before year’s end and handling customers during a particularly financially loaded time of year, they’re also dealing with their own shopping, cooking, cleaning, hosting, and traveling responsibilities. And – they’re trying to do it all in the midst of shortened work weeks fit with office holiday parties and gift exchanges. There’s a lot on their plate, and a shout-out on social media to remind them how much they are respected, appreciated, and cared for at their jobs will go a long way!
- Be thankful for your customers
Don’t forget to thank the people who make your job possible! A shout-out to your customers, whether it’s in the form of a written “Thank You” or a special offer taking place at your branch or office, it never hurts to show appreciation for those who are keeping your business afloat! Whether you are highlighting a particular customer (make sure you get his or her permission first!) or addressing all your customers at large, it can be an appreciated gesture to remind your customers about their friends at the bank! Gremlin Social Tip: 90% of consumers would recommend a brand to others after interacting with them on social media!
Giving Tuesday is a great way to support your community – a movement that started as an offset to the shopping craze promoted by Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and now provides businesses with an opportunity to make year-end contributions to a charity of their choosing. By selecting an organization that is local or important to your community, you can also highlight your bank’s passion for the area you serve.
- Thankful for your community
While it’s important to highlight your employees, your customers, and other local organizations individually -- the combination that makes up your community is truly unique and worthy of a special shout-out all its own! The idea that we are all a part of something bigger together is often what drives people to feel connected to the businesses they choose – including yours!
Have we forgotten anyone that should be included? We’d love to hear what groups in your community you’re thankful for – share on our Facebook page!
